The following instructions are specific for Outlook 2013 but should be applicable to any recent version.
- Open Microsoft Outlook 2013
- Click File
- Click Info from the left side menu
- Click Account Settings
- Select the Account Settings...option from the drop down
- Under the Email tab, you will see a list of email accounts that exist
within Outlook 2013, double click on the email account you wish to make
changes to
- Make sure the screen is filled in as follows
Your Name: The name you wish displayed when people receive your emails
Email Address: youremail@yourdomain.com.au
Account Type: IMAP from the drop down
Incoming mail server: imap.ecdomains.com.au
Outgoing mail server: smtp.ecdomains.com.au (make sure this is correct spelling, it is often auto corrected.)
User Name: youremail@yourdomain.com.au
Password: The password used for this email account
tick remember password
- Click [More Settings] on the right
- Select the Outgoing Server tab
- Select My outgoing mail sever (SMTP) requires authentication and Use
same settings as incoming mail server
- Select the Advanced tab.
tick this server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) number to 465
Use the following type of encrypted connection = SSL
untick the remove from server
- Click [OK]
- Click [Next] then [Finish]
